Some things to consider

Deciding that you need a website for your business is only the first step. To get to the finished product there must be a lot of thought and consideration initially from you and your web design team. Depending on the size and complexity of your website it can take anywhere from a few days to a few months to complete.

* Do you currently have an active website?

* If you currently have an active website do you only need updates and maintenance done to the site or do you want your site totally re-done?

* Do you currently have a domain name?

* If you do not have a domain name do you need assistance in choosing and purchasing one?

* What is the purpose for the website (What do you expect the website to do for your business, simple web presence or to draw in more customers?)

* Who is your target audience? (Demographics)

* Approximately how many pages do you think your website will need to have?

* Is your site going to need a shopping cart for people to make purchases from your website?

* Does the site need to have a secure certificate?

* Do you want or need forms for customers to fill out and submit online? If yes, how many forms will be needed and will the forms need to be secure? (Forms need to be secure if they are being used to make purchases or gathering personal data from a customer).

* Do you want images on your website? If yes, do you already have the images. If you do not have the images you may want on your website where will you be acquiring them from?

* Do you have a company brochure that you would like the website to look similar to?

* Do you have your own logo that you would like to add to your site or do you need one created for you?

* Do you have your own content you want to add to your site or will you hire someone for content creation?

* Have you seen websites that you would like your site to resemble? If yes, what are the websites URL's (addresses)?

* Do you have specific design idea's or guidlines as to what you do want and what you do not want on your site, such as a color scheme you have in mind or certain layout.

* Will you need ongoing updates and maintenance for your website? If yes, approximately how often will you need changes to be made?

* What is your realistic budget for the website?
